8 Things to Do in London This Week

The last full week of this month-long festival celebrating the Thames and London's waterways includes a live performance of Shakespeare's The Tempest aboard the Golden Hinde and a contemporary dance piece inside the Brunel Museum's tunnel shaft.

An outdoor, adults-only London Museum guided walk through Poplar tracing sites from Jennifer Worth's memoir Call the Midwife, stopping at Poplar High Street, Chrisp Street Market, All Saints Church and the building that inspired Nonnatus House.

Various German-style beer hall parties and Oktoberfest menus are popping up across London this month, complete with steins, oompah bands and pretzels for a festive communal drinking atmosphere.
